The Ribbon type
burners are designed for high heat release firing and would be specified where a
continuous even flame is essential. They utilise special stainless steel ribbons for
excellent flame retention and uniform heat distribution. Many thousands are installed on
food processing lines and in particular the baking industry. Ribbon burners are also
specified for applications where insufficient secondary air is available or higher heat
inputs than atmospheric bar type burners can deliver are required. These burners ignite
easily and the flame travels to all ports instantaneously, simplifying safety systems.
The standard pipe type ribbon burners are available in pipe sizes from 20mm BSP to 50mm
BSP. Several ribbon constructions are possible to obtain various heat outputs and flame
patterns.
All burners should be fitted with some form of ignition and flame safety. ACS have kits
available to automate the entire process including accurate temperature control. Ribbon
burners are usually coupled to a suitable air/gas mixing arrangement (see the Aspirators
brochure) or if utilising high pressure gas to an appropriate inspirator.
ACS will recommend the best system to suit your needs.

SHORT SECTION RIBBON BURNERS
RB STANDARD TYPE
Ribbon burners are also available in short, back fed sections from 100mm to 300mm or special sizes on request. The standard short section ribbon burner utilises 32mm BSP pipe although any size can be specified. The standard gas entry is 15mm BSP female with an approximate flame width of 6mm.
These burners are
used in any application where an intense, continuous flame is desired. The RB and RBW are
particular suited to plastic flaming applications where the unique pattern produces
perfectly treated sections. Please ask for the "Flame Treatment of Surfaces"
brochure for more details on purpose built machines and burner assemblies.

RBW HI HEAT TYPE
For applications requiring a greater heat input or a wider flame than the standard type, the RBW should be specified. These have a special ribbon construction with larger ports to deliver a high heat flame of approx. 15mm. Wider flame burners with specific flame patterns to match your requirements are possible.

ADJUSTABLE FLAME LENGTH
For applications requiring an adjustable flame length a slide adjustment can be fitted to the RBW style only. Please specify "S" with the part number. i.e. RBWS250 - wide flame type ribbon burner with a flame length of 250 mm fitted with an adjustable slide.
Note: All capacities are approximate only and depend on the gas/air mixture pressure available.
